2021 Reading Challenge – Conclusion and Plans for the New Year

I’m so behind with posting this conclusion to my 2021 Reading Challenge, honestly, I’ve been putting it off because I didn’t know what I wanted to write or include in this. I have found that quarterly check-ins don’t really work for me though, both of the reading challenges that I have done in the last couple of years I’m good with one maybe two and then I don’t keep it up, oops. Anyway, in today’s post, I’m going to go through how many prompts I managed to tick off ( I did more than I thought I would) and what I read, maybe include a few thoughts and links to any book reviews.

Ready Player Two Book Review

Today Iโ€™m back with another book review but this time Iโ€™m reviewing Ernest Clineโ€™s sequel to โ€˜Ready Player Oneโ€™, which is โ€˜Ready Player Twoโ€™. I’m sorry this one is quite late posting, I’ve been meaning to share it for weeks now but I’ve been sick on and off and just haven’t yet gotten around to posting it. But never fear you will now be able to read my thoughts on this subject.

If you read my review for โ€˜Ready Player Oneโ€™ you will know that I really enjoyed it so โ€˜Ready Player Twoโ€™ had a lot to live up to when it came to being at the same level or better for me to enjoy it as much as the original. Spoiler it did live up to my expectations but let me tell you a bit more about it first.

Ready Player One Book Review

Ready Player One was the debut and smash hit novel from Ernest Cline, Its filled with lots of 80โ€™s Trivia and Retro Gaming references. Itโ€™s a retro gamers dream. Clineโ€™s debut novel was also translated into a movie format that was then directed by non-other than Steven Spielberg, I mean if Spielberg thinks itโ€™s good enough to turn into a movie it must be pretty good right.

I decided to read Ready Player One after watching the movie, but luckily enough by the time I did get around to reading it had forgotten what happened in the movie so I was really able to read without comparing the two. As part of this review, I do also want to touch on certain aspects of the book vs. the movie, comparing what differences they have and perhaps even tell you which one I preferred storyline wise.
