Beauty Bucket List | Reflecting On 2018's & Goals For 2019 | Life Of Dahlia

Beauty Bucket List | Reflecting on 2018’s & Goals for 2019 | Life Of Dahlia

Hey everyone, last year I did my very first ‘Beauty Bucket List(the original creator of that tag was it’s me Hunter.) and today I thought I would share a reflection on my 2018 bucket list, I’ll talk a bit about what I achieved as well as what I could have done better at. I will also be sharing with you what’s on my ‘Beauty Bucket List’ for 2019.

2018 Beauty Bucket List| Goals Reflection

Related Post: Beauty Bucket List 2018

The first image (above) is from late 2017 I think, and the others are from throughout 2018, I thought this would show how things have changed over the year.

1. Improve eye makeup skill

I feel like I have really improved my eye makeup skills in the last year but I do still think I have a ways to go yet so I definitely want to keep trying to improve my skills.

I have learned a lot about working with hooded/ deep set eyes this year, I feel like on my eyes particularly more structured looks look much better than super blended out, this is where I tend to lose the eyeshadow when my eyes are open.

Here are some creative makeup looks that I did during 2018

2. Create more creative makeup looks

I think I had big things in mind when I wrote this down and I didn’t do as well as I thought I was going to but I’m proud of the more creative looks that I did do last year and I would love to continue to be more creative in 2019.

I think my problem was trying to do to many things with my time, blog, creative makeup ,etc, etc I just didn’t give myself alot of time to get creative like that.

The current look for my website & some holiday pics from my eriappbeauty instagram.

3. Put my all into my blog and Instagram (Personal Goal)

This was more of a personal goal than a beauty goal but I feel like I did do this but maybe to well I ended up too focused and didn’t take enough time for other things and my own well-being. I would love to continue this but I may be not as full force as last year, my health has to come first.

And I also feel like I got to focused on numbers and stuff like that but I have since decided that is not worth my time, I want to do things because I enjoy them and learn to relax more and give myself time to breath.

4. Adding sunscreen into my routine.

I actually did do this I purchased a couple of face sunscreens to try out and I have been also using more base products that contain an SPF 15-30 or more.

5. Learning some new hairstyles and put more effort into doing my hair.

I started out with good intentions but didn’t get very fair this is something I want to try and do this year.

6. Make a bigger effort to stick to my project pans.

I don’t think I did too bad but I did find some products harder than others to want to use which I’m sure is normal but I definitely want to continue to do project pans in my own time during 2019.

I tried to keep up to date with doing blog posts on my progress but I realized two things 1. I’m not really that great at it and 2. I really don’t like doing them. Which is why in 2019 I while I will be doing Project Pans I won’t continue posting about them, because its really boring and I want to spend my time doing something more creative with my time.

7. Get more use out of my nail polish collection.

Yep, I epically failed here in 2018 but in 2019 I would like to make a bigger effort to use my nail polishes.

8. Try different skincare (anti-aging.)

During 2018 I was really working on using up backups but I actually did try some new skincare on a few occasions toward the end of the year, I have now found a couple of new brands I like but I’m definitely interested in branching out and trying some more during 2019.

I have kind of stuck with the same stuff for so long and stick to a couple of brands that I love but I love trying new products so once those last couple of back ups are used up I might have to try something new.

I think I hit most of my goals and I did learn a lot so I’m quite proud of my achievements but I know there are a few things I would like to continue to trying and improve upon.

2019 Beauty Bucket List

Alot of this is a continuation of goals from 2018 like improving skills etc.

More examples from 2018

1. Continue to improve my makeup skills.

This is a given, practicing something will always help you improve, I would love to focus on eye and lip applications for this year.

During Liptember (September 2018) I really tried to practice my lipstick application aswell as trying out wearing some fun coloured lipsticks, I definatly want to keep doing this kind of stuff and maybe share some of my favourite lip products here on my blog.

More examples from 2018

2. Creating some more creative makeup looks.

I have a few creative makeup looks in mind that I would love to try so I definitely want to continue to trying to be more creative with my looks.

I also would love to just continue just being creative with my everyday makeup and maybe wearing a fun coloured lip more often or some bold colourful eye looks.

3. Continue to try and get more use out of my nail polish collection.

I have quite a decent amount of nail polish and I definitely feel like I don’t use them enough so I would like to make a bigger effort to do that.

I have been doing a big inventory of my makeup, nail, and skin/body care stuff so that I can better see what I have and as a deterrent to buying more. I want to go through my nail polish collection this year and see what I still like and what needs to be decluttered because its either too old or just not a colour that looks good on me. I honestly can’t see myself buying too many new nail polishes anytime soon I just don’t use them as much as I should so I want that to be a deterrent to buying more.

4. Focus more on what’s in my current makeup collection than always looking for something new.

I want to continue doing my palette series (which is inspired by Kat from Kitsnitch & beauty news monthly palette series) and do more shop my stash and project pans (in my own time) to get more use out of my collection instead of always looking to buy something new.

This is also partly why I decided to do a makeup inventory so I could realistically see how big my collection had gotten and deter me from always wanting to buying more stuff (like lipsticks, never realized I had as many as I actually do.)

I’m not calling it a low/no-buy or anything official like that because I still want to have the ability to buy things but I just want to be better at being more mindful about what I am buying. I hope that makes sense.

I have found that I have a tendency to buy when I’m not feeling the best to make me feel better, this is kind of what I want to stop myself doing I think its more of a mental thing that I need to work on.

I found with the low buy I did last year I actually made myself feel really bad when I brought stuff so thats why its not official, I’m thinking of it as just learning to be more mindful with out the pressure I put on myself , I guess these things work for some people but not for everyone and I just have to find what works for me.

5. Trying something new with my hair.

I recently had my hair cut in a new style and I’m quite enjoying it, I would love to try and style it different ways, like curling or braiding etc.

6. Improve my false eyelash application

I don’t wear usually wear false eyelashes that often but I do think they look good with certain makeup looks so I really would like to keep practicing putting them on.

I hope you enjoyed checking out my reflection on my 2018 ‘Beauty Bucket List’ and what I’m thinking for 2019.

What are your Beauty Bucket List Goals for 2019? let me know.

Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Beauty Box 2018

Flora & Fauna Cruelty-Free & Vegan Summer Box | Life Of Dahlia

Hey Everyone, I don’t know how long some of you have been following me but circa 2012-14 I used to get beauty boxes and review them. It has been a long long time since I’ve purchased beauty or subscription boxes but since going cruelty-free I wanted to look into seeing if there were any cruelty-free boxes out there.

I recently came across a site called Flora & Fauna, which is basically a one-stop shop for cruelty-free, vegan, ethical and eco-friendly products. Flora & Fauna also offer a quarterly box that you can purchase, which is amazing because it allows you to try a range of products.

Today I’m going to share my first box with you, and what I recieved in it.

Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Beauty Box 2018

About The Flora & Fauna Cruelty-Free & Vegan Summer Box

Like I said Flora & Fauna offer a quarterly box that you can purchase, you have the choice of either purchasing a single box or paying for all four yearly boxes at once. However unlike other boxes you basically need to get in before its gone, there is no sign up for the box like with a subscription unless you pay for all four at once then you will be guaranteed to get a box.

Each box costs $34.95 and you receive up to 8 products in the box in both full and sample size, each box is valued at over $100 worth of product.

I picked up the ‘Summer Box‘ earlier this month and I’m excited to be showing you what I received in it.

What I received in my box

In my box, I received 6 full-size products, a greeting card, and a sample product. I’m very happy with the products that I received in this box I love that I get to try something’s that I would never have picked out myself as well as discover some new cruelty-free and ethical brands.

The ANSC Perfume | Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Beauty Box 2018

The ANSC Perfume 15ml RRP $29.95

This perfume is by a company called ‘The ANSC’ or ‘The Australian Natural Soap Company’ they are based out of Melbourne and makes a range of soaps, perfumes and essential oils that are all natural, cruelty-free, vegan and made from Australian ingredients.

I certainly wasn’t expecting a perfume in my box but I honestly went into this with no expectations of what I was going to receive. Looking into this brand I love what they stand for and I would love to try some of their other products. I just love trying different soaps and I love supporting Aussie brands or businesses when I can.

Green + Kind Cleansing Bar RRP from $10.95
Green + Kind Konjac Sponge RRP $7.95

Green + Kind are an ethical focused brand that aims to make products that will have a minimal impact on the environment. They believe that we can find better alternatives to the things that we use every day and make sure they are also good for us.

Green + Kind is actually created by the founders of Flora & Fauna, they are very passionate about our planet and want to make products that are eco-friendly, ethical and work. They are also focused on conservation of the environment, as well as both marine and land animals.

I received two Green + Kind products in my box including a ‘Cleansing Bar’ and one of their ‘Konjac Sponges’. The ‘Cleansing Bars’ are developed to support skin types, they are made from natural ingredients and with conscious packaging. they are cruelty-free, palm oil free and without parabens or sulfates.

I’ve never tried a cleanser that came in bar form before so I’m definitely interested in trying it out, I just find it so intriguing and I would love to move towards using more products that create less waste.

The ‘Konjac Sponge’ I also found quite interesting I have never seen anything like this before, but apparently, it is made from fibers from the Japanese Konjac Plant and is meant to gently cleanse and soothe the skin by removing dirt and oil. It has apparently been as a beauty tool for centuries.

Green + Kind have a range of different sponges available for different skin types I’m guessing. From what I’ve read you are supposed to soak them and then they can be used with your favourite cleanser, it also gently exfoliates your face and can be used daily.

This is such an interesting product and I’m really intrigued and can’t wait to give it a go.

Buddy Scrub Charcoal Body Scrub Flora & Fauna Cruelty Free & Vegan Summer Box

Buddy Scrub Charcoal Body Scrub RRP $15.95

I love a good body scrub, I usually go for a standard sugar or coffee scrub but this product looks interesting because I have never tried one with charcoal before so I can not wait to use this in addition to using my other scrubs.

This body scrub is from Buddy Scrub and is Australian Made, natural, vegan and cruelty-free. Its free from sulphates, parabens, synthetic ingredients, harsh detergents, mineral oils, PEG and EDTA.

The Buddy Scrub brand also make a range of coffee scrubs, body wash, oils and lip care products.

This particular one includes sea salt and sugar to gently exfoliate your skin and has activated charcoal and coconut oil to leave your skin glowing. as well as jojoba oil and grape seed oil to help keep the skin feeling soft and clean it also including some essential vitamins and minerals.

I was reading the back of the packaging and I thought the way they wrote the directions and ingredient description was very amusing, I love when a brand takes that extra step to teach you about the product but adding a little bit more than just the standard description.

I can’t wait to try this and maybe in the future try more from this brand, I love a good lipscrub and while I usually make my own I would love to try one from a brand like this.

Dr Bronners Liquid Soap | Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Box

DR Bronner’s Liquid Soap 59ml RRP $5.95

I’ve heard of Dr Bronner’s before but I never knew too much about it until now. This soap is actually very interesting its a concentrate and it can be used in a lot of different ways and when I say a lot I mean a lot of different ways.

This product can be used as a face, body and hair cleanser as well as a toothpaste (which I found interesting but not really sure if I would want to go there) as well as a cleaner around your house like for washing the dishes or laundry detergent, mopping, all-purpose cleaner as well as washing your windows. It’s so crazy, the possibilities really are endless.

The brand that creates this product is Dr Bronner’s as I mentioned before and in addition to this soap, they also make a range of different types of soap products including variations of the liquid soap, some bars & pump soaps as well as shaving soaps, toothpaste and lotions.

I received the smallest size of this product but it is also available in two additional sizes, a 237 ml & 473 ml.

After reading up on this I’m very intrigued and I can’t wait to try this out, the only question really is what do I try first?

Happy Skincare Moisturiser | Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Beauty Box

Happy Skincare Perfectly Happy Light Anti-oxidant Cream RRP $34.10

I’m always happy to try new skincare, especially moisturizers or serums. This moisturiser is a light anti-oxidant cream with vitamin c to brighten the complexion. Its aimed toward normal, oily & combination skin.

The brand that created this product is Happy Skincare and they combined pure Vitamin C with exotic Australian bush extracts and the beauty mineral MSM to provide nourishment, brightening and rejuvenation to the skin. It’s also free from parabens and mineral oils.

All Happy Skincare products are Australian made and owned, vegan and made with all natural ingredients. They are based out of Newcastle and specialize in skincare for “mature and sensitive skin, dry skin, acne and pimples, chemotherapy and radiation therapy patients, eczema, irritated skin, diabetics and people living with lymphoedema.”sourced from the Flora & Fauna website.

I received the ‘Perfectly Happy Light Anti-oxidant Cream’ the larger size or full-size (50ml) but it is also available in a sample size (12ml). They also have a range of other skincare which consists of cleansing balms to different types of scrubs as well as face masks, lip balms and more.

earth greetings card | flora & fauna summer vegan beauty box

Earth Greetings Blank Greeting Card RRP $5

One of the additional items I received in my box was a cute little handmade card and tag from Earth Greetings. All Earth Greetings cards are made from post-consumer waste and are Australian Made.

I think this is so cute and I love that its made from recycled materials, I might pass this on to my mum I know she will love it or maybe I’ll hold on to it to add to a birthday gift next year. I personally very rarely give people cards because I just feel like most people don’t hang on to them these days so I feel like its a waste but I would love to see more card, gift tags and wrapping paper being made from recycled materials.

Earth Greetings is an Adelaide Based company which is really exciting and they also make wrapping paper, pencils made from recycled newspaper, journals, tea towels, pens and decorations made from bamboo.

All their paper-based products are made from recycled paper and they use vegetable-based dyes for printing their products. I’m loving some of the stuff this brand has to offer and will definitely check them out in the future for things like cards and gifts.

Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil | Flora & Fauna Summer Vegan Beauty Box

Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil Sample: Fullsized RRP $33.95 for 100ml

Lastly I recieved a sample for a Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil, which is made up of a combination of natural based plant oils and extracts. Its suppost to help reduce the sign of cellulite by supporting the body’s own regulating and regenerating processes.

This is not a type of product that I use very much mainly because I never find them that effective (more so in sample size) I may pass this on to someone else, I don’t know we will see I might just use it to use it up.

We are finally at the end of this post, I’m super excited to try some of these products out, there are some really interesting products that I find quite intriguing.

I’m also grateful for finding Flora & Fauna it really gives me hope for continuing to transition to more cruelty-free, ethical and eco-friendly products in the future. In addition to purchasing this box, I also purchased some organic cotton rounds, a bamboo toothbrush and some reusable produce bags for my mum to use.

I’ve been slowly moving away from using things like makeup wipes (its taken me a while) and regular cotton rounds to more organic and eco-friendly cotton rounds for removing my makeup or for cleansing with micellar water. I’ve also transitioned from a plastic toothbrush to a biodegradable bamboo toothbrush, I’m also currently using herbal toothpaste instead of regular toothpaste, partly because of health reasons.

I’m also trialling organic feminine hygiene products as well, so having access to a site like Flora & Fauna is fantastic because they have so many brands and so many products in pretty much any category you could think of. While its quite overwhelming at first because of the sheer amount of products available on their website it is a great resource for sourcing more eco-friendly and ethical products.

If you are interested in checking out Flora & Fauna or any of the brands mentioned you can find them all available via their website.

I hope you enjoyed this post,

Until next time

Testing Andalou Naturals - Age-Defying Skincare Essentials | Life Of Dahlia

Testing Andalou Naturals – Age-Defying Skincare Essentials | Life Of Dahlia

Hey Beauty Lovers, today I’m sharing a skincare post all about Andalou Naturals ‘Age-Defying Skincare Essentials’ pack.

I picked this up a few months ago to test out once I had finished up a few other skincare products. This brand is actually fairly new to Australia, I picked this trial set up after seeing them advertised in one of Priceline Australia‘s catalogues. I love natural based skincare and Its great to see Priceline stocking more cruelty-free brands.

I love when brands have trial sets I think they are a great way to test out products before committing to the full-sized versions of products. If its something you enjoyed and didn’t have any reactions to then you can go ahead and pick up the full-sized products.

I decided to go ahead and pick up the ‘Age-defying’ set, I’m in my 30’s now and that means I really need to start using anti-ageing products to keep my skin nice and youthful. This set is good for people with dry skin, dull & flaky skin or has premature ageing with fine lines and wrinkles.

While I do have combo skin with oiliness in certain areas I do have drier skin in the winter time so I thought that this would be an interesting one to try out.

About Andalou Naturals

“The natural products industry embraces innovation and creativity, while entrepreneurship offers women a level playing field to succeed. For Andalou Naturals, my goal was to create an empowerment brand with a mission to influence an industry to do better, while creating a sustainable source of revenue for social responsibility.”

I love what this brand is about they create non-gmo products to empower women and want to better the planet by using sustainable resources and creating innovative products through plant science. Find out all about their standards here.

Andalou Naturals ‘Age-defying’ range

The ‘Age-defying’ range has ‘Resveratrol & CoQ10, super antioxidants that support skin wellbeing and essential building blocks to promote collagen & elastin for softer smoother appearance and youthful vitality.’ The basis of this range is the fruit stem cell complex, Resveratrol & CoQ10, ‘Resveratrol is often referred to as the ‘fountain of youth’ because it appears to be so effective at warding off many diseases associated with ageing‘ And ‘Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a basic substance that our bodies make naturally’ – source –Abeeco of New Zealand

Andalou Naturals derive their ingredients from plants, for example, Resveratrol in their products is derived from red grape skin and the Resveratrol Q10 is made from Resveratrol combined with Coenzyme Q10 which they derive from fermented vegetables.

I honestly find this stuff really fascinating, for Andalou’s full ingredients list you can find it on their website. The more I’ve been looking into this brand the more I love and want to support them, I think what they are doing is fantastic and I’m already wanting to try more of their products out.

My Thought On The Products

Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk

I don’t mind this as an everyday cleanser but I got the impression from the description that it could be used to remove my makeup like a cleansing oil, it didn’t do that at all but as a regular cleanser, I thought it was nice.

I really enjoy my current go-to cleanser so I’m not sure I would grab the full size of this one.

Blossom + Leaf Toning Refresher

I thought this was an okay toner it didn’t dry my skin out but the scent really bothered me it was quite strong and I think that’s what put me off finishing this all up. I don’t think this is something I would buy in the full-size.

BioActive 8 Berry Fruit Enzyme Mask

I’ve tried this a few times and I quite like it, my skin feels fresh and rejuvenated, It definitely did what it claimed and I would actually consider purchasing the full-size of this once I’ve finished up some of my current face masks.

Goji Peptide Perfecting Cream

This was a nice daily moisturizer, it made my skin feel hydrated, I don’t know if I saw much of a difference as far as fine-lines and wrinkles but I definitely felt like this was a good hydrating moisturizer. I would consider picking this up in the future.

Resveratrol Q10 Night Repair Cream

This one I’m actually not sure about, I liked it but I’ve been having some breakouts and I’m not sure if its been hormonal of if its because this contains Cocoa seed butter and that was the problem. I know ingredients like these can cause some people to break out so I’m on the fence about this one.

Have you tried Andalou Naturals? What are your thoughts and what would you recommend trying out? let me know in the comments.

I really enjoyed trying this out, I’m actually interested in trying out a couple of the products from this range that weren’t included in this pack the ‘Fruit Stem Cell Revitalize Serum’ & the ‘Hyaluronic DMAE Lift & Firm Cream’, they both look really great and if they are anything like the few products I enjoyed in this pack I’m sure I’ll like them enough to consider adding into my regular skincare routine.

Aussies can pick up Andalou Naturals from Priceline Australia, online or instore.

Thank you for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it.

What I'm Not Going To Buy Mid Year Update | Life of Dahlia

What I’m Not Going To Buy Mid Year Update | Life of Dahlia

Hey, guys, I thought it would be interesting to do a mid-year update on my low buy/ what I’m not going to buy this year.

If you didn’t see my post at the start of the year where I talked about what I’m not going to buy in 2018, you should go check it out I gave my thoughts on why I wanted to be a more mindful shopper.

So I talked about what things I was going be buying less of this year, I wanted to restrict myself so that I didn’t buy to much stuff this includes makeup and beauty products as well as clothes and trinkets.

Low Buy Update

What I'm Not Going To Buy Mid Year Update | Life of Dahlia

Makeup & Beauty Products

At the start of the year I wanted to give myself the ability to only buy one or two nonessential items, I decided that I could have one expensive or two less expensive items a month this was on both makeup and beauty products like skincare.

Some months were pretty good particularly in January and February, where I only purchased one palette each month and that was it. There were some months here and there where I did purchase a few extras.

In the last month though I feel like I’m at a point where I’m only wanting to purchase things that I don’t have anything like. In June I made a few purchases because I wanted to review things but now just want to use what I already own.

As for skincare and haircare, I have pretty much just stuck to what I had and only purchased things that weren’t currently in my routine or needed to replace like toner, fave scrubs and hair treatments etc.

As for my choices to not buy products in certain packaging I have mostly stuck to that, I haven’t purchased any sheet masks I’m just concentrating on using up current products that are in my stash.

I’ve only purchased two products in bag type packaging, I have more thoughts on packaging and companies who claim to be cruelty-free etc and don’t think about being eco-friendly too, which to be honest is probably quite hard in this day and age where everything comes in plastic packaging. It’s been on my mind a lot and I’m still deciding what I’m going to do as far as purchasing certain items but I feel like all things take time.

I may go into this some other time but for now, I’m just focusing on this post.

What I'm Not Going To Buy Mid Year Update | Life of Dahlia

Clothing and Accessories

As far as clothing goes I’ve only purchased a few things, a couple of jackets I probably didn’t need them but I feel like these are staples in my wardrobe and will be for years to come but at this point, I don’t plan on buying any more.

I also purchased some light clothing for winter (I did purchase this new, which I would usually buy secondhand) and a couple of pairs of leggings from the Blackmilk labyrinth 2.0 collection, which leggings are what I like to wear most of the time so I was totally fine with this purchase, no guilt.

As for accessories, I purchased a necklace and shells from Secret Wood and some Shoes from Tuk Footwear. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I purchased new shoes or jewellery for myself, I’ve been wanting to purchase something from these brands for some time so I did decide to go ahead and purchase from them.

I didn’t buy as much secondhand as I usually do but not really on purpose I just haven’t felt like going and searching through lots of clothes, I just wanted to find the things I needed.

What I'm Not Going To Buy Mid Year Update | Life of Dahlia

Decor, Art, Books

As far as decor is concerned I have purchased a few things here and there mostly organization stuff for my beauty room.

I’ve purchased a few art pieces from artists so I did purchase frames. My focus is here and I want to find a way to display my vinyl records which I’ve slowly been adding to.

I have actually purchased a few books but these are things I keep for a long time, even though I wasn’t going to buy any, but it’s not something I’m mad at myself for.

I’ve been going through a lot this year with my anxiety, depression and fibromyalgia, I’ve been having a hard time so I’m not trying to put to much pressure on myself if I occasionally break my low buy.

I feel like I could totally have done better but with everything I’ve been going through I’m proud that so far of what I’ve accomplished.

I think my focus for the rest of the year is to focus on myself and slowly add artwork to my house, maybe travel. I also want to do a couple of things to my bathroom and kitchen so I’m going to focus on trying to save some money.

Have you been on a low buy this year? How are you going ? let’s chat in the comments.

Current Skincare Routine| Life Of Dahlia

Hey, my beautiful readers, I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things as you might know I’ve been taking it easy, I’ve been going through a rough few weeks with anxiety, depression and fibro flare-ups. I’ve been experiencing quite a few ups and downs recently so I knew that I just had to take a step back for my own sanity, But now I’m slowly getting back into things and I’m hoping to get back into posting more regularly I’m aiming for two posts a week with maybe the occasional third.

I was just spreading myself to thin and not giving myself time to relax and breath, something which for me is very important especially with having illnesses.

Anyway getting on to today’s topic I’m sharing with you my current skincare routine, from the pictures I’ve included it may seem like overkill but each thing has its purpose, which I will tell you about as I go.

Morning Skincare Routine

For my morning skincare routine I like to cleanse my face with the ‘Essano Rosehip Gentle Foaming Cleanser’ (this has been a staple in my skincare routine for many years and I still love it) on my ‘Conair True Glow Sonic Cleansing System’ brush, I use this all over my face pretty much daily.

I’ve been trying some new products recently one of which is the ‘Blessed By Nature Retoning Facial Scrub’ I have been using this a few times a week and really enjoying it.

After I get out of the shower I like to use the ‘Blessed By Nature Hydrating Mist Toner’ to help tone my skin while adding some hydration back into my skin.

As I’m getting older I find that my skin needs products to add hydration back in, while I’ve always had Oily/Combo skin I’m finding that as I get older parts of my face are becoming dryer so I like to make sure that I use products to hydrate as much as possible. Of course drinking lots of water helps too.

Next I will usually go in with ‘The Ordinary ‘Buffet’’ which helps with hydration and fine lines, I quite enjoy this product but I will probably not be repurchasing at this stage. I usually prefer more natural skincare but occasionally I like to try something different.

Update: When I originally shared this post I didn’t have plans to pick up any more products from The Ordinary because of some stuff going on with the brand at that stage. I felt like I could have elaborated or worded it a bit better at the time. At the time I was worried that would find a product I really liked and I wouldn’t be able to continue purchasing it.

I actually have recently  picked up a couple of things and I have one of them currently in my routine (February 2019). I just wanted to add an update on this post because I felt like I could have worded it better and it was causing me a bit of anxiety, I have updated part of this post because of that. I know its okay to not be perfect all the time and sometimes communicating our thoughts isn’t always easy, I try very hard to not let my anxiety and insecurities get to me but sometimes I does more than I would like it to.

I hope you enjoy the rest of my post.

Lastly, I will add my daily moisturizer, I’m currently panning a ‘Sukin Sensitive Facial Moisturizer’ so this is what I have been using. I do quite enjoy Sukin’s moisturizers and I will defiantly repurchase in the future.

Night & Weekly Skincare Routine

I’ve recently added in the ‘Natio Moisturizing Sun Lotion with SPF 50’ into my skincare routine, I will use this most days when I know I’m going to be out in the sun but I would like to get into the habit of using it every day.

I love face mask so I recently added the ‘Sukin Detoxifying Clay Masque’ into my project pan because I have way too many but this is one I really enjoy and love using once to twice a week.

I love using the ‘Nutrimetics Nutri-rich Ointment’ on my lips to add extra hydration when going in with a lip scrub, my lips can get quite dry so this is great before and after.

Night Time Routine

For my night time routine I will often use the ‘Essano Micellar Water’ as a light cleanser or to take makeup off at the end of the day before starting my night routine.

I recently added in the ‘Nutrimetics Comfort Moisturizer’ into my routine to pan after finishing up a night moisturizer, this for me is great as a nighttime moisturizer instead of a daily because it takes a while to seep into my skin. I love to pair it with the eye-cream both of which are on my list to use up so I can move on to trying out some new skincare.

Well, that’s everything, like I said everything has a purpose. I’ve been enjoying trying some new products but also panning some ones I currently have. I have been using the same thing for so long that I want to branch out this is where I will often add in things that I don’t currently have, like trying a new face scrub or toner.
