Skincare is an important part of my daily routine, though I will admit that occassional I get a bit lazy and neglect doing it but for the most part I love this part of my day. I love both the skin care benefits aswell as the self-care benefits of having a skincare routine. For the most part my skincare routine is pretty simple but I do have about 5 to 9 steps in my routine depending on whether its morning or evening. In today’s post I’m going to be sharing with you a video of how my current daily skincare routine looks.
My Daily Skincare Routine
In the video below I’ll be sharing with you my morning and evening skincare routines, while they don’t differ to much but I do a 3 step cleansing routine to remove my makeup in addition to the rest of the routine but other than that they are pretty similar. I will also occassionally pop a sleep mask on as the last step of my evening routine, but thats not something I do daily and I like to exfoliate at least once a week as well as doing regular face masks a couple of times a week.
What Products I Use In My Daily Routine.
Morning
I shower in the mornings so I like to wash my face while i’m taking a shower, I try not to have the water to hot because I know that’s not great for your skin. I then do the rest of my morning routine after getting out of the shower.

Cleansing: The Green + Kind Facial Cleansing Bar for Dry Skin (current) or Green + Kind Facial Cleansing Bar for Oily Skin
These cleansing bars are great, they last most of the year and I often enjoy using the Green + Kind konjac spounges with them though in winter I find they take a long time to dry out so I prefer using them in the warmer weather. They also do a body konjac spounge as well, both the Green + Kind facial cleansing bars and the konjac spounges are great zero waste alternatives.
Toner: Mario Badescu Facial Spray Toners
This is a step that I would like to eventually make my own D.I.Y version of so that I can just make some up instead of purchasing new ones when I run out but I currently have a couple in my stash that I would like to use up. In saying that though I really like the Mario Badescu Facial Sprays, I have used all for variations and I liked pretty much all of them.
Essence: Revolution Skincare Niacinamide Clarifying Essence Spray | Previously: The Body Shop ‘Drops of Youth’ Youth Essence Lotion
This is a newer step to my routine I’ve only added this step to my routine in the last 12 months or so, I like this step it helps make sure that the skincare products applied after obsorb in the the skin to get the full benefits. I’m currently using the Revolution Skincare ‘Niacinamide’ Clarifying Essence Spray though before I started using this I was using The Body Shop’s ‘Drops of Youth’ Essence Lotion and I would say that I will probably repurchase that one in the future because It took me about a year to use up so I think its definatly worth the extra money.
Serums: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 25 + B5 & Blessed by Nature Antioxidant Soothing Eye Serum
Even though I have combo skin with oilyness in my t-zone area I prefer a hydrating serum because the more hydration I get from my skincare the less oily I get. I also have aging skin so I like the plumping aspects of Hyaluronic Acid serums and alike. I like adding an eye serum to my routine I have seen benefits, though It may not be entirely nessasary.

Moisturizer: Essano Rosehip Regenerating Facial Moisturiser
I’ve used a bunch of different moisturisers in the past but my go to brands are either Essano or Sukin, I’m currently using the Essano ‘Rosehip Regenerating’ Facial Moisturiser, this is one that I have repurchased multiple times over the years. It is winter currently when I’m posting this so I want something extra moisturising. I also love Rosehip oil products which is why Essano has some of my favourite products and why I often go back to their products over and over. Rosehip has alot of benefits including both healing and anti-aging which is why I love it so much.
SPF: Mecca Cosmetica To Save Face SPF 50+ Superscreen (Broad Spectrum)
I have to say this part of my routine is the part that I need to get better at I always forget to do it but when I do this is what I’m currently using. I usually don’t spend to much time outdoors though I probably should spend more time outdoors to get that vitamin d but because I live in Australia an SPF should be part of my routine, and I need to get better at remembering to wear it. When it comes to SPF for my face I prefer a dedicated facial sunscreen thats not to greasy and the Mecca Cosmetica one is great, it is tinted to so you don’t get a white case and I often like this as my primer step also in my makeup routine. It quite expensive though and I’m currently trying to find something similar thats more affordable.
Evening
My night time routine has a couple of extra steps including a 3 step cleansing routine, but mostly its the same.
Cleansing: Essano Rosehip Gentle Facial Cleansing Micellar Water , Palmer’s Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil & The Green + Kind Facial Cleansing Bar for Dry Skin
For cleansing my face in the evening I have a multiple step cleansing routine, especially if I’m wearing makeup I want to make sure that it is all gone. I will go in with a reusable cotton round or an organic cotton round (just depending on whats on my eyes if I know its has glitter particles in it I prefer to remove it with an organic cotton round and dispose of it in the bin, instead of it all going down the drain) with some Micellar Water on it and remove my eye makeup and lipstick. I then use a cleansing oil and wash off the rest of my makeup and then I use my normal cleanser just to make sure everything is removed as best as it can be.

Toner: Mario Badescu Facial Spray Toners
I use the same toner as in my morning routine.
Essence: Revolution Skincare Niacinamide Clarifying Essence Spray | Previously: The Body Shop ‘Drops of Youth’ Youth Essence Lotion
I use the same essence product as in my morning routine.
Serums: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 25 + B5 & Blessed by Nature Antioxidant Soothing Eye Serum
I use the same serums as in my morning routine, I like to keep my serums to a minimum I don’t like to use to many different things on my face at one time, I hope that make sense.
Moisturizer: Essano Rosehip Regenerating Facial Moisturiser
I don’t have a night cream moisturiser in the evenings at the moment though I have in the past, I find this moisturiser moisturising enough that I don’t feel the need to add another product to my routine.

Additional Products:
Sleep Masks: Glow Recipe Avocado Melt or Watermelon Glow Sleeping Masks
I occassionally like to finish off my evening routine by adding on off the Glow Recipe sleeping masks, I have a couple of the mini sized ones and I quite enjoy using them, they both add hydration and set down like a slight film on your skin. I also occassionaly like using them as a traditional hydrating mask. I will then wash it off in the morning if I’m using them as a sleeping mask or after a while of having on if using them as a traditional mask.
Face Masks: Sukin Sensitive Pink Clay Facial Masque
I’m currently also using the Suking Pink Clay mask which I quite like, I have always enjoyed using clay face masks they help to purify and detox my skin from pollutants or impurities. I like to do a face mask twice a week and I’ll either using this or something more hydrating depending on what my skin needs.
I prefer using masks that come tupes or tubs over say sheet masks, I find them less wasteful and can last months instead of being a single use product.
I hope you enjoyed this post (& video), Whats your skincare routine look like? Do you have any favourite products that you repurchase time and time again? Let me know in the comments.
Until next time, I hope you have a lovely day.
