Blackmilk Clothing Immortal Beauty Haul + Outfit Styling

Note: The pieces featured in this post are no longer available, they were apart of the 2018 halloween collection. However keep an eye out on Blackmilk Clothing’s website incase they decide to re-release them, they sometimes re-release popular prints.

Today I’m back with a fashion related post but this one has a Halloween twist. Last month (September 2018) Blackmilk Clothing released their Halloween collection ‘Immortal Beauty’. I picked up two garments but there were so many to choose from that looked amazing it was really hard to choose.

I’ve gone a little crazy with my editing for this post, I was just super inspired by the theme and the colours in the garments that I had to add some red lighting and use my black backdrop to give some extra spooky vibes. I love how they came out especially the red ones they just look really awesome and spooky.

Outfits: 1. featuring the ‘A Murder Tee Dress’ & 2. featuring the ‘Demonised pocket skater skirt‘.

I try to limit the amount I purchase from Blackmilk mainly because of the prices, their pieces can be quite expensive so I try to limit myself to 2 or 3 pieces. And I only try to pick things I know I will truely wear but sometime there are pieces that intrigue me because of the print but I know that they aren’t really my style.

They release quite a bit but I definetly don’t purchase something from every collection only from the ones that I really like, I don’t feel the need to have everything.

Demonised Pocket Skater Skirt

This time I picked up a skirt that had a really cool cathedral print with stormy red skies the ‘Demonised pocket skater skirt‘.

Both the pieces I grabbed were of ‘limited’ release so I’m glad that I got to grab one before it they were gone.

There were so many amazing pieces in this release with lots of darker themes, they had some really great prints with skeletons or skulls that looked amazing, but the two I picked just stood out to me the most.

I had thought about doing this post earlier but I was so busy and I thought this would be perfect for my Halloween content, so I hope that you enjoy it.

For the photos I added some red lighting for some spooky effects, I shot this outfit first and the all over red shot was a totally accident but I loved it so much I tried to recreate it with my second outfit.

I’ve included an unedited image for both outfits so that you can see the unedited and creative edited photos. I know that it makes it easier to see the details, because the creative edits can sometimes make it harder to see the details.

A Murder Tee Dress

The second piece I picked up is a tee style dress with ravens or crows all over it, the piece was called ‘A Murder Tee Dress‘. It has some red tones on it as with the skirt which was what I was also drawn to. I just love the details in both of these garments, they are both really unique and that’s certainly what I look for when purchasing clothes in general, I like something that’s going to add to my wardrobe.

I don’t own anything like this and I love trying to add diffent styles of clothing to my collection. I feel like this style of dress is quite wearable you can wear it alone of with some tights or leggings, both would look quite nice

I loved the lighting for the first photo (below) for this piece in particular, the blue and red really look great together such a nice contrast, and adds a great effect. When editing my photos I like to take inspiration from film photography, adding in light leek effects and adding things like dust, scratches and grain to give it more authentic look.

Conclusion & Mindful Shopping

I love these pieces from the Blackmilk Clothing’s ‘Immortal Beauty’ Collection, they are unique and add something interesting to any outfit. They are well made which is what I like about purchasing from BM. They are also made and shipped from Queensland, Australia.

I try not to buy new clothes too often, I usually prefer buying second hand but there are just some things you can’t necessarily find in a second-hand store, so when I do purchase new clothes I make sure its something that will be in my wardrobe for a long time to come. I’m sure I’ve said that before, but with the high turn over of fast fashion clothes I think it’s important to think before purchasing. I certainly do think a lot before purchasing from Blackmilk, I love their clothes but they are expensive so when I want to purchase something I want to know that I will get a lot of wear out of it so that I’m not wasting my money.

I’m just loving the stuff I picked up, I’ve probably worn that dress like every week since purchasing it, and that skirt is just beautiful and better yet has pockets, how many times have you worn a skirt or dress and feel like it would be better with pockets.

Did you pick up something from the Immortal Beauty collection? What did you get? Let me know in the comments.
