Hey Everyone, I can’t remember if I mentioned in a previous post that I decided to stop my low buy, well sort of anyway. It wasn’t going as well as I’d hoped, and I was making myself feel really bad every-time I purchased literally anything so I actually decided to stop my low buy.
I’m still focusing on being mindful when I’m purchasing things, but I’m also trying to be kinder to myself and not make myself feel guilty when I do purchase something.
I think it been a long time since I’ve done a haul type post, I remember doing them years ago. It’s not something I can see myself doing lots of especially when I’m trying to be more mindful with my purchasing, but they are always fun.
In this post, I’m going to be sharing with you a few makeup items I recently purchased, I picked up some with the latest Mecca Beauty Loop Box and the others from a few other places.
Mecca Haul + Beauty Loop Box
Mecca Beauty Loop Level 1 Box
Starting with my Mecca Beauty Loop box, I was happy to receive four items, three of which are Cruelty-free, which is great. If you didn’t know Nars is no longer CF which is quite disappointing.
In my level 1 beauty loop box I received a sample of the Josie Maran ‘100% Pure Argan Oil’ (I also currently have a sample of this in my sample project pan, I can’t wait to try it out), the Ren ‘Perfect Canvas Skin Enhancing Prime Serum’, the Toofaced ‘Hangover 3-In-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray’ as well as the Nars ‘Velvet Matte Lip Pencil’ in ‘Let’s Go Crazy’.
I’ll be popping these in my sample bag for my sample project pan, I’m excited to try some of these out. As for the Nars lipstick, I will probably keep it, If the shades not for me I may pass it on.
Now to what I purchased from Mecca, I always order my beauty loop boxes from the website mainly because there isn’t one super close to me, the only downside is that I actually have to order something from the website. Because of this I usually try and time my purchase around this time, if possible, that way I can take advantage of my beauty loop benefits.
Mecca recently had a few items on sale which is actually quite unusual, but I scrolled through and found a couple of items that I thought I might like. I certainly don’t need more lipsticks but I’m always interested in trying new formulas so I picked up a couple of Urban Decay ‘Vice Liquid lipsticks’ (in ‘backtalk’ & ‘Time’) and one from the ‘Kristen Leanne’ Collection(bun buns).
I also picked up the Toofaced ‘Lifes A Festival’ eyeshadow palette, I remember talking about this in a new products post and I think I was unsure or not interested at the time, I guess I changed my mind.
I’ve played with it a little bit and I quite like the colours, I think I’ll be pulling this out during the warmer months because it has some beautiful brights and duo-chromes in it. I think this will look nice paired with the Sweet Peach palette.
Chi Chi Cosmetics
Target recently had a sale on Chi Chi Cosmetics, I wasn’t actually looking to pick anything up but I saw a couple of things that interested me. Not pictured but I picked up their ‘CC Cream‘ which I’ve been trying out, I don’t mind it so far I might actually do a wear test featuring this product.
I am really wary of purchasing stuff like this basically because most BB and CC creams don’t have the best shade ranges especially for people at the fairer end of the spectrum. And I’m sure people with deeper skin probably have the same issue.
I also picked up a couple of lip kits they had, each one came with a lipliner, lipstick and gloss. I think these were limited edition packs I’m not sure but I can’t wait to try them out I think I should start doing lipstick reviews, I have enough.
I’m new to trying BH Cosmetics, I recently decided to purchase the Zodiac eyeshadow palette from Glamraider.com.au. I’m very excited to try this out and I have my eye on a couple more of their eyeshadow palettes. The ‘Galaxy Chic’ & ‘Aurora Lights’ palette.
When it comes to eyeshadow I’m very picky but its something I don’t mind buying more than other makeup items because it will typically last longer than other makeup products especially powder formulas.
This will also be my first time trying a baked formula so I’m really excited.
If you’re really into makeup and the beauty community you will probably have heard of Morphe before. This is my first ever Morphe purchase and I’m really excited to try the ‘Dare to create’ 39a and the 35b palettes, these were both ones I had heard really great things about.
Recently Morphe started pulling out of their Australian stockist which was disheartening but that was for a reason the recently launched their Australian & NZ website, which is where I picked these babies up.
I was looking at getting the new Jaclyn Hill bundle but after hearing that they didn’t live up to expectations, I think these two have very similar colours between them and the bundle palettes so I’m glad I went with these. I still have to try them out so I’ll get back to you in a review later on about my thoughts on them.
Have you picked up anything new recently? or have you tried out any of the mentioned products? let me know
