In this post, I will be sharing with you the products that I’ve been loving in January and February. I’ve been reaching for some new products but also a few old favourites in the last couple of months. I’m going to share with you some of my current favourite beauty products as well as some of my current favourite books and music.
I’ve been testing out these BYS ‘Contour‘ palettes in the last month for a review. I purchased these last year, one for me and the others for my kit. You can see my review for my full thoughts on these babies.
Tarte Blush Bazaar Palette
I picked up this beauty for my kit but I’ve been having fun testing it out. I’m going to post a review on this but so far I’m really enjoying it. I’m on the fence though if I’m going to buy anything else from Tarte, I’m very passionate about equality so I’m still deciding about whether I will purchase from them in the future. I’ll touch more on this in my post, as well as my full thoughts on this product.
I’ve been playing with these heaps because I wanted to post my review. This range has so many fun colours, I love using ‘Fire(red)‘, ‘Sapphire(blue)‘ and ‘Violet(deep purple)‘.
I created a bunch of looks using these, my ‘Fire‘ and ‘Sapphire‘ looks are by far my favourites. You can find my looks and review here.
I’ve been dipping into an old favourite in the last couple of month, my Too Faced ‘Chocolate Bar‘ palette. I love this palette Its one of my favourites from their chocolate bar range. ‘Salted Caramel’ is one of my favourite shades and I quite often will dip into this for a beautiful transition shade.
Australis Blush BFFs – Shop & Goss
In January I was using this quite often, I was looking for a dupe in my collection for one of Tarte’s blushes that I received a sample of last year and I found my Australis Blush BFFs ‘Shop and Goss‘ was a pretty close match. I don’t think they even make this one anymore but it’s a beautiful blush and I love mixing them together for a beautiful pinky peach shade.
Beauty & Body
I purchased this at the end of last year when Priceline had one of their skincare bags, The product is really nice and I think you receive a decent amount of product in each bag. I tried the ‘Manuka Honey‘ and the ‘Coconut‘ they were both lovely and the smell of the coconut was delicious.
I purchased a two pack of these from Cost-co last year and I’m only just now finishing my first bottle. these are 500 ml so they will last a long time. The formula is nice it makes my skin really hydrated and moisturized. I’m excited to continue using this and the other body lotions I have in my current stash.
Nutrimetics Comfort Moisturizer
In the last few months, I’ve been experimenting with different moisturizers because I’ve noticed a change in my skin, it’s starting to feel drier. I have been trying out this day creme from Nutrimetics, it’s quite nice and it adds enough hydration to my skin without making me to oily in my t-zone area.
I picked up a couple of new tool type items late last year, one of them being the Vera Mona ‘Color Switch‘. This is great for getting powder eyeshadow off of your brushes in the interim between switching colours. I like to use this when doing swatches and also just doing my regular makeup. This would be great for a makeup artist to use when doing multiple applications.
I picked up the Cinema Secrets brush cleaner ages ago and while I liked it the price stopped me from repurchasing. This brush cleaner from Designer Makeup tools is great, it’s very similar to the Cinema Secrets on but with a much nicer price point.
Current Favourite Books
I wanted to share with you some non-beauty favourites. I was given ‘The 100‘ book series by Kass Morgan for Christmas and during January and February, I’ve been diving into reading this series. There are differences from the Tv series but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying reading this. I love pairing these with the audiobooks to have a fully immersive reading experience.
Current Music Favourites
For music faves these last couple of months I’ve been listening to a couple of old favourites, Gyroscope (Aussie) and Green Day (USA). I went to see Gyroscope in concert at The Gov and the Green Day ‘American Idiot‘ musical in January, so I’ve been listening to these guys a lot for the last couple of months.
The Musical was amazing if you ever get to see it I highly recommend it if you’re a Green Day fan.
What have your favourites been for January & February? Has anyone seen the Green Day ‘American Idiot’ musical? Did you enjoy it as much as I did?
I’ve got a lot of posts going up in the next few months, I’ve been doing a lot of planning of what things I’d like to post I can’t wait to share them with you.
