First-time Ever Empties Post + Project Pan Update 2| Life Of Dahlia

For this post, I wanted to do something different, for the first time ever I’m doing an ‘Empties’ post. I love watching these on types of videos on Youtube, how these posts work if you don’t already know, is that typically people share the products they have used up and whether they would repurchase said products.

I’m also going to include some products I’ve used up in my project pan because I haven’t had much progress in my project pan products this month.

Vivienne Westwood – Naughty Alice 50 ml

I’ve had this in my collection for a few years it was one of my first designer perfumes so it’s probably one of my oldest perfumes in my collection. I added this to my project pan so that I could start using up some of my perfumes, I started with this because it was the smallest and oldest in my collection.

Would I repurchase this probably not because Vivienne Westwood’s brand is not cruelty-free. I have to admit since going cruelty-free there have been items that I have yet to think about, perfume is one of those that I haven’t considered, sadly it had yet to cross my mind. But I have quite a few perfumes in my collection and I haven’t purchased any since going cruelty-free so that is a plus. My aim is to try and use these all up before considering purchasing any more.

I wish this was cruelty-free because it is one of my favourite fragrances.

Kat Von D – Lock It Foundation – light 42

This wasn’t officially in my project pan because I only had a little bit left so I felt that it wasn’t necessary to pop it in because I was so close to using it up. I also have a couple of other foundations that are in a similar spot where I’m almost finished so I decided it wasn’t necessary to officially include them because I was using them anyway.

Would I repurchase the Kat Von D Lock it foundation, I’m on the fence with that because while I did like it I have felt like my skin has changed over the last year and become drier so maybe that’s why I found it hard to use towards the end.

I loved the shade it was a perfect match for my skin tone which because I’m at the fairer end of the spectrum is quite hard to find. If I did repurchase I might purchase the matching primer to see if I can make it work. I did find this super full coverage and I did like that but I wished it was easier to sheer out a little because I have pretty good skin most of the time that I just don’t find it isn’t always necessary for me to have full coverage all the time. When I have tied to apply it lighter or mix it with a primer to sheer it out it just didn’t work that well.

I may consider repurchasing this but only when I have finished all my other foundations.

Antipodes Worship Skin Defence Antioxidants Serum 10 mls

I received a small sample of this in a Priceline Skincare bag, I wouldn’t purchase this I just didn’t find it that great, to be honest, and my moisturizers didn’t like to sit properly over the top no matter if I waited 15-20 mins in between. It just didn’t do what I was looking for in a skincare product and I’m not prepared to pay the $43 for a full size.

I don’t mind paying for skincare but only if I know it’s going to do something for my skin.

Palmers Coconut Oil Body Lotion 500ml

I purchased two of these in a bulk pack at Cost-co, My first bottle is just about finished, I would definitely repurchase this. I love the formula it adds a lot of moister to my skin and doesn’t have any sulfates, parabens or phthalates in it. My only downside is the packaging, I have to empty the last quarter of the product into another container because it will no longer pump it out, this doesn’t really bother me but it did take me a while to get it all out because the formula is quite think like a body butter.

Nutrimetics -Nutri-Rich Body Creme 150 ml

The Nutri-Rich range from Nutrimetics is one of my faves, If you have been following me for a while you may have seen me review their products before. I have tried both the Body Butter and Body Creme in this range and I loved both, I can’t say I think they are that different but I would totally repurchase either of the Body Butter or the Body Creme. They both leave my skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth.

I have a tone of body lotions to get through this year so I would consider repurchasing after I have finished the three bottles of body lotions in my stash.

Essano – Adore Rosehip Oil Repairing Body Wash 445ml

Essano is one of my favourite skincare brands and I put my relatively good skin down to using their products. I’ve used their skin care for a few years now, so last year when they released body washes I had to try them all. This one so far has been my favourite out of the three different ones available. I love the Jasmine and Fig scent it’s just so calming and a bottle of this can last me up to three months.

I would definitely repurchase and in fact, I already have. I would love to try the coconut oil one as well, I did have one in my stash but I gave it away as a gift so I will repurchase one in the future so I can try it out.

I love that these are relatively inexpensive at $9.99 I don’t mind paying that for a product that will last me three months. This brand is quite accessible in Australia, you can find them via Priceline, Coles, Woolworths and Big W, They all have great sales to so I always look out for those to make savings on my favourite products.

Essano – Acai Berry – Colour Protect Shampoo & Conditioner 300ml each

Essano also came out with a range of shampoo and conditioners a couple of years ago and I’ve been using them since because they are sulfate & paraben free which is great for me because I colour my hair so much. Last year they added a couple of new ones to their range including the Acai Berry Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, I’ve been using these since they released and I won’t go back. I love these they give longevity to my hair colour and add hydration and nourishment back to my hair, which is great because I bleach my hair. I attribute these to helping keep my hair nice and healthy after bleaching and colouring my hair, I will definitely repurchase these and continue using these in the future.

Why haven’t I done one of these posts before they are so much fun. I think I will keep doing these kinds of posts from now on, it’s interesting to see the kind of products I go through and what I love and what I don’t.

There were a couple of products I wanted to mention but I got rid of the packaging before I even thought about doing this post, the ‘Kat Von D Tattoo liner‘ I would definitely repurchase and the ‘Bean Body Coffee body scrubs‘ which I’m on the fence about I love the product and but I’m not 100 % sure if the packaging is recyclable as it comes in a plastic bag type packaging.

Would you like to see more posts like this? I’m thinking of doing a DIY beauty series would you be interested in seeing something like that? Leave a comment below.

I’m so looking forward to putting more time and effort into my blog this year.
